Natural Stone Cleaning, Restoration, and Protection Works at Godrej Trilogy, Worli
Natural Stone Restoration Project at Godrej Trilogy
Project Overview
During the construction and handover phases at Godrej Trilogy, Worli, we observed that the natural stone finishes in the entrance and lobby areas had accumulated heavy construction dust, grout residues, and surface dullness. These areas serve as the main arrival and circulation zones, making finish quality and visual consistency extremely important.
We were engaged to carry out professional stone cleaning, stone restoration, and stone protection services to restore the stone surfaces to a standard suitable for project handover. Our objective was to remove deep-seated construction contamination, revive the stone’s natural appearance, and provide long-term surface protection capable of handling continuous foot traffic.
Site Context and Importance of Finish Quality
The entrance and lobby areas at Godrej Trilogy are high-visibility common spaces that experience constant daily movement. These zones are designed to create a strong first impression while also performing under long-term operational use.
Natural stone in such environments is highly vulnerable during construction. Cement dust, grout haze, and site debris often settle into the surface and joints. In our experience, routine housekeeping or basic cleaning methods are not sufficient to address these issues. Without professional stone cleaning services, the stone can permanently lose clarity and become difficult to maintain.
Existing Stone Condition and Observed Challenges
At the time of our assessment, the stone surfaces showed clear signs of post-construction impact. Grout marks and embedded dirt were visible across multiple areas, leading to uneven appearance and loss of natural colour depth.
The stone looked dull and inconsistent, which affected the overall quality of the space. Standard cleaning methods had already been attempted but failed to deliver results. At the same time, aggressive cleaning posed a risk of surface damage. This made it necessary for us to apply a specialist natural stone cleaning and restoration process that would be both effective and safe.
Our Technical Approach and Execution Methodology
We implemented a structured and site-specific stone restoration programme, carefully planned to address post-construction residues and prepare the stone for long-term protection.
Deep Stone Cleaning Using FABER 30
Our first step involved intensive stone cleaning using FABER 30, a professional alkaline stone cleaner designed to remove stubborn construction dirt, grease, and grout residues.
We adjusted the dilution based on site conditions and applied the solution evenly across the stone surfaces. Mechanical scrubbing was used to loosen embedded contaminants, followed by controlled dwell time and thorough rinsing. This process allowed us to deep-clean the stone effectively without affecting its natural texture or colour.
Surface Neutralisation and Preparation
After cleaning, we neutralised the stone surfaces and allowed them to dry completely. This step is critical, as it stabilises the surface pH and ensures that the stone is ready to accept the protective treatment evenly, without patchiness or absorption issues.
Colour Enhancement and Stone Protection Using FS Enhance & Protect +
Once the stone was fully dry, we applied FS Enhance & Protect +, a penetrating sealer used in professional stone protection services. This product enhances the stone’s natural colour while protecting it against water, oil, and common stains.
The sealer penetrates into the stone rather than forming a surface layer, allowing the stone to breathe and retain its natural feel. We applied the product in a controlled manner and removed excess material after the recommended dwell time to achieve a uniform and refined finish across all treated areas.
Final Results and Delivered Outcomes
The completed works resulted in an immediate and visible improvement. All construction residues were removed, and the stone’s natural colour, pattern, and surface clarity were restored.
The entrance and lobby areas now present a clean, consistent, and premium appearance aligned with the project’s overall design intent. Beyond aesthetics, the applied stone protection provides long-term resistance to moisture ingress, staining, and daily wear, making the surfaces easier to maintain under regular foot traffic.
