GL 88
Glue for marble and natural stones.
Description
GL 88 is a compound made of unsaturated polyester modified resin, dissolved in monomer styrene, to which is added an unsaturated polyester orthophtalic modified resin, condensed with standard glycol and pre-accelerated with hardener. The preparation has good characteristics of chemical mechanical resistance, brightness and stability after hardening.

FAQs
What is GL 88 used for?
GL 88 is a glue designed for bonding and repairing marble and natural stone surfaces, especially useful for cracks and fissures.
How strong is the bond created by GL 88?
GL 88 provides a strong chemical and mechanical bond, offering excellent resistance to wear and maintaining stability after hardening.
Does GL 88 alter the appearance of the stone?
GL 88 maintains the stone's brightness and overall aesthetic, ensuring the repair is discreet while offering a seamless finish.
Can GL 88 be used for both small and large repairs?
Yes, GL 88 is versatile and can be used for both small cracks and larger repairs, making it a great choice for various stone restoration needs.
Is GL 88 resistant to environmental factors?
Yes, once hardened, GL 88 provides excellent stability and resistance to environmental factors such as moisture and temperature changes.
How long does it take for GL 88 to cure completely?
GL 88 cures in approximately 35 minutes under standard conditions (22 °C, 50% RH). Once set, it can be ground or polished immediately, making it ideal for fast, efficient repairs.
What is the shelf life of GL 88, and how should it be stored?
When kept in its original, factory‐sealed container, GL 88 boasts a 12-month shelf life. To preserve its performance characteristics, the product should be stored in a cool, dry place, shielded from direct sunlight and temperature extremes. Always ensure the lid is tightly closed to prevent contamination or styrene evaporation, and avoid exposing the resin to repeated freeze–thaw cycles, which can lead to phase separation or thickening.
Are there any safety precautions to consider when using GL 88?
GL 88 contains unsaturated polyester resins dissolved in styrene monomer, which is both flammable and a respiratory irritant. Before use, review the Safety Data Sheet and employ appropriate personal protective equipment—nitrile gloves, chemical‐resistant goggles, and protective clothing—to prevent skin or eye contact. Work in a well-ventilated area or under local exhaust ventilation to minimize inhalation of styrene vapors, and keep the container tightly closed when not dispensing. Because the product has a flash point of 30 °C, it must be kept away from heat, sparks, open flames, and other ignition sources. At the end of the job, wash tools with water before the epoxy hardens, and dispose of any waste in accordance with local regulations.
