Description

BACK PROTECTOR is a high-performance, solvent-based stain protection treatment designed for pre-installation use on natural and artificial stones. It penetrates deep into micropores, creating an invisible, breathable barrier that repels grout, cement, and dirt stains without altering the stone’s natural appearance. Its UV-resistant formula ensures long-lasting protection while allowing moisture to escape. Suitable for various stone types, it enhances durability and simplifies post-installation cleaning. Proper ventilation is required during application, and multiple coats may be needed for highly absorbent surfaces.

FAQs

What is BACK PROTECTOR used for?

BACK PROTECTOR is designed to protect natural stone, marble, and concrete surfaces from moisture, stains, and weather damage.

No, it has a natural finish, ensuring that the original look of the surface remains unchanged while providing deep protection.

Yes, it is highly effective for both indoor and outdoor surfaces, including kitchens, bathrooms, facades, and flooring.

Back Protector is formulated to work “behind the scenes” during installation, creating an invisible, breathable shield that repels grout, cement, and dirt. Once the installation and grouting are complete, you simply remove any surface residues, grout haze, cement slurry, or dust by rinsing with clean water or a mild, pH-neutral stone cleaner and a soft sponge. The impregnated barrier stays in place and requires no further upkeep, letting you carry on with normal post-installation maintenance without affecting the stone’s natural look.

Yes. Back Protector is compatible with all natural and engineered stones, including polished marble and granite. Its solvent-based formula penetrates deep into micropores without forming a surface film or altering gloss levels, so it leaves honed, polished and textured finishes completely unchanged while still protecting against installation-related stains.

Coverage will vary based on stone porosity and substrate profile, but the Technical Data Sheet reports an average spread rate of 10–15 m² per liter. For very absorbent or highly textured stones, you may need a second coat to achieve complete pore saturation. Always refer to the TDS for substrate-specific recommendations.

Back Protector is designed expressly for pre-installation use. It must be applied to clean, ungrouted stone before setting to ensure grout and cement cannot penetrate. Applying it post-installation once the stone is fixed and joints are filled, will not provide the same protection and may interfere with the bond between the stone and setting materials. For post-installation stain protection, consider one of our gespecialiseerde sealers (e.g., AS-930) intended for use on completed surfaces.
